The government on Friday formed three-member ministerial team headed by Minister without Portfolio Ghanshyam Bhusal to negotiate with different agitating groups. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held in the evening formed the talk team. Peace and Reconstruction Minister Bishwonath Sah and Agriculture minister Hari Narayan Sah are its members. The government formed the negotiating team after a series of shutdown strikes called by different groups continued to paralyse normal life across the country. The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) imposed a nationwide bandh today, demanding guarantee of the rights of indigenous communities in the upcoming constitution. A number of other groups including Chhettri Samaj Nepal and Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha have organised bandhs over the past few days.nepalnews.com |
